Stinging nettle is a wild plant of our countryside, whose young leaves are traditionally cooked in soup. Here its organic leaves are dried at low temperature and then ground, with no chemical process: 300 mg of powder per capsule. They naturally contain potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc, manganese and selenium, as well as vitamins and plant protein. In capsules, nettle doesn’t sting. Vegan.
Take 2 capsules a day with a glass of water, for example at breakfast. A bottle of 60 capsules lasts 30 days. Store in a dry place. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Keep out of reach of young children. Food supplements are not a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Per capsule: Stinging nettle leaf powder (300 mg). Made in France.
Nettle leaf powder naturally contains minerals (iron, calcium, zinc, selenium), trace elements and plant protein. 2 capsules provide 600 mg of organic nettle leaf powder.

Organic Nettle Powder from Bio-Gestion is made from organically grown nettle leaves, simply dried and then finely ground, without extraction.

The Latin name of the nettle, Urtica, comes from the verb urere, “to burn”. Everyone has felt its sting at one time or another. The mechanism is astonishingly precise: its leaves and stems are covered with tiny hairs, hardened with silica like little glass needles. At the slightest touch, their tips break off and inject a small irritating cocktail under the skin.

Once the plant has been dried, these hairs lose their power: that is why nettle soup does not sting, and nor does the powder in our capsules.

Organically grown stinging nettle leaves, simply dried and then finely ground, without extraction. A plant we think we know, yet one that has clothed soldiers, inspired a fairy tale by Andersen and fed generations of butterflies.

Nettle shirts, from fairy tale to battlefield

In The Wild Swans, published in 1838, Hans Christian Andersen tells the story of Elisa, whose eleven brothers have been turned into swans by a jealous queen. To break the spell, she must pick nettles with her bare hands, tread them with her bare feet, spin them and then knit eleven shirts, without uttering a single word until her task is done.

The tale invents nothing: the nettle stem contains a long, strong fibre that has been spun and woven since the Bronze Age. During the First World War, short of cotton, Germany even had nettles harvested on a large scale to make uniforms.

Nettle stems contain a long, strong fibre that can be spun on a wooden spindle, following a very old textile craft.

The butterflies’ canteen

The nettle likes nitrogen-rich soils: it is almost always found near houses, farms and gardens, as if it had chosen to live alongside us. For gardeners, it is also a basic ingredient: the base of the well-known nettle feed.

Above all, it is indispensable to several of our most beautiful butterflies. The caterpillars of the peacock, the small tortoiseshell and the red admiral feed almost exclusively on it. A patch of nettles left at the bottom of the garden is a nursery for the following summer.

The peacock butterfly (Aglais io) readily settles on nettles, which are also the food plant of its caterpillars.

A powder without extraction

Our organically grown nettle leaves are dried and then finely ground. No extraction, no solvent: the powder contains the whole leaf, just as it was picked. Each capsule contains 300 mg, i.e. 600 mg per daily dose.

Who is it for, and how to take it?

Organic Nettle Powder is intended for adults who wish to include nettle leaf in their daily routine without having to pick or cook it, in an organic form and without extraction.

2 capsules a day, with a glass of water. A bottle lasts one month.

Made in France.

Picking young nettle leaves in spring is a reminder of the plant origin of Organic Nettle Powder, offered in a practical form to include in your daily routine.
