I highly recommend it!
Native to North America, the cranberry here comes from organic farming and is rich in PACs (proanthocyanidins), compounds of the flavonoid family that limit the adhesion of certain bacteria to the bladder wall, thereby contributing to urinary comfort.
For anyone who likes cranberry but prefers to avoid the sugar in commercial juices or the calories in dried fruit. The capsules slip easily into a bag or suitcase and are taken with meals. An option for those who prefer ingredients from organic farming.
Cranberry is best known as a juice, often heavily sweetened, or dried in trail mixes. We chose it in a simpler form: a cranberry powder from organic farming, with no added sugar, providing 36 mg of proanthocyanidins (PACs) a day. Three capsules with meals, a single active ingredient. But first, where does this small red berry come from?
The cranberry (Vaccinium macrocarpon) is a small, bright red berry, a cousin of the blueberry and the lingonberry, which grows on creeping shrubs in the acidic bogs of North America, from Quebec to Wisconsin by way of Massachusetts.
Indigenous peoples ate it long before the arrival of Europeans: they added it to pemmican, a preparation of dried meat and berries that kept all winter, and used it as a dye. In Quebec, it is still often called atoca, a name inherited from the Iroquoian languages.

Its English name, cranberry, comes from the first European settlers. In spring, its small pink flowers with swept-back petals, nodding at the end of their stems, reminded them of the head and long beak of a crane. The crane-berry became the cranberry.

It is one of the most remarkable sights in farming. In autumn, the bogs are flooded. Machines stir the water to knock the berries loose, and because each cranberry contains small pockets of air, they all rise to the surface. The fields are then covered with a bright red carpet, which is gathered in with large floating booms.
These air pockets have another amusing effect: a fresh, firm cranberry bounces. For a long time, growers sorted their berries by bouncing them over boards; only the best made it over the barrier.

Cranberry is rich in polyphenols, and in particular in proanthocyanidins, abbreviated to PACs. They give it part of its astringency, that slightly tart taste that makes you purse your lips.
PAC content varies widely from one product to another, and many supplements do not state it. Organic Cranberry displays it clearly: 11.9 mg per capsule, i.e. 35.7 mg for the daily dose of three capsules. It is this figure, more than the weight of powder, that allows products to be compared with one another.
Cranberry is very sour. That is why commercial juices are almost always diluted and heavily sweetened, and dried berries coated in sugar. In capsule form, you avoid this added sugar and know exactly how much PAC you are taking.
Cranberry is one of the supplements most often chosen by women, frequently as part of their urinary comfort routine. Organic Cranberry is for women who wish to take it in a simple, organic form with no added sugar.
